*** EZ-Calendar v1.2 ***
(EZCAL.EXE)
REQUIREMENTS:
EZ-Calendar requires 640K RAM , and color monitor.
A mouse is supported in the message editing area, but not
required.
DESCRIPTION:
EZ-Calendar is a simple-to-use program which allows you to
select a year and a month, then leave a message up to about
5 lines for a particular date. When that month is then chosen
again, the days with messages will be highlighted and you can
read, edit or delete your messages.
Upon startup, the program shows a calendar for the current
month and any days for which messages have been left.
When the program is exited, it automatically removes any
deleted records from the file to keep the size of the data
file to a minimum.
Although there ARE limits to the number of messages you could
keep, before the limit was reached a noticeable slowdown would
become apparent in retreiving messages. It is very doubtful that
any normal use would ever come close to the limits.
Now with a message Search function which allows you to easily
search your messages for any string. After the matching messages
are found, their dates will be listed in a window (up to 1000)
from which you can select the one you want and press [ENTER] to
immediately go to the selected date.
With this version you can now cut and paste messages from one
date to another.
INSTRUCTIONS:
There are some internal instructions within the program and it
is very easy to use. Basically it starts at the main screen
and a calendar is displayed of the current month showing any
dates containing messages in highlight.
At the bottom is a menu. Pressing [ESC] will leave the program,
pressing 'N' will prompt you for a new date (year and month) the
arrow keys will move you through the days on the current calendar
and pressing [ENTER] will open the message window on the currently
selected day. Pressing 'S' for search will open a box into which
you may input your search string of up to 30 characters. If any
messages are found containing your search string, the dates will
be listed in another window. From this window you may select the
date you want, and press [ENTER] which will immediately change
the calendar to your selected date. Pressing [ENTER] again will
then open the selection. If you enter no search string ALL dates
containing messages will be listed (up to 1000).
The message window contains a menu at the top which can be
accessed using the mouse or the [ALT] + highlighted key.
When the window is opened, if there is a message for the
currently selected date, it will be displayed and may be
added to or changed. If there is no message, you may enter
one. Once a change is made to a message (or if one is entered)
if you want it saved, you must select Save from the pull-down
menu (or [CTRL] + 'S'). If there is a message already on that
date and you wish to remove it select Delete (or [CTRL] + 'D').
Messages may be edited using the mouse and many of the common
editing procedures. Including cut & paste from one date to
another.
The message window can be closed either by selecting Exit from
the pull-down menu, or by pressing [ESC]. Remember that unless
you Save a message it will not be saved when you exit, and unless
you Delete it, the record will be saved, even if blank.
